Grimcast is a Dungeon Crawler game with Dice mechanics elements. You are the dungeon lord who was defeated by heroes. Before dying, you managed to seize their minds, taking control of their bodies. You sent them deeper into the dungeon to make them stronger, so you could become invincible once again.

Tutorial:

Basics of the Combat System

  1. First Stage: Rerolling Dice
    • Dice in the center can be rerolled.
    • To keep a cube, click on it — it will move to your character.
    • This stage is marked by the "Next phase" button.
  2. Second Stage: Choosing Targets
    • Attack: click the attack cube → select an enemy.
    • Defense/Spell: click the cube → select your character.
    • Thin lines show the direction of attacks.
    • This stage is marked by the "Execute" button.
  3. Third Stage: Exchanging Blows
    • Watch the results of your decisions unfold.

this is so cool i really liked it! my one complaint is that if you walk into an enemy while moving sideways or backwards, that's how the combat will start which makes visibility poor. bit annoying! best to make sure enemies are centered/front-on during combat :D

how do i interact with the npcs? I spam F and nothing hapens

We didn't have time to implement this, but we 100% wanted to do it and will do it. We have many plans for improving this game)

Would have been great to have a more interactive tutorial since the play style is somewhat unique. That being said, as@timursol said the game is very immersive. The Artstyle, and Mechanics are really cool, and the music is also very fitting, though more variance would have been nice.

My personal favorite of the Jam so far!

:like: very immersive

This art style is fantastic! I had a little trouble with the "execute" button not wanting to attack. Maybe I was doing something wrong though.

Many people have this problem. You need to distribute the cubes among the characters first. In the next phase of the battle, you must click on the cube and point it at the enemy, so you will attack the enemy.

I got it! I didn't realize you needed to click on the enemies name to assign the execute cube.
